Kiwifruit Kick-It Smoothie

We are in need of a bit of an immune boost around here. Scratchy throats and sniffles are creeping in when we've got our guard down. I also have a surplus of kiwifruit after a friend kindly gave me a box full! I made this great Kick-It smoothie for a big hit of vitamin C and antioxidants this morning. I'm feeling better already! 

Kiwifruit Kick-It Smoothie
3 Kiwifruit skin removed
1 Orange Peel removed
1 heaped tsp Coconut Oil
1 Cup Filtered Water


Combine all ingredients in a strong blender on the fastest speed for 30 seconds. Pour into glass and drink plentifully. 
Did you know kiwi fruit have more Vitamin C than oranges and only slightly less potassium than bananas? They also contain a powerhouse of enzymes for breaking up mucus and congestion. What a gift to our immune systems! The coconut oil is added to balance the fruit sugar with the slow releasing energy of the oil and for its fabulous antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. Elijah made lots of funny faces with the sour taste - which he actually really enjoys. If I hadn't been intending for my baby to drink this with me I would have included some fresh chili and maybe even some raw garlic - for extra immunity kick.
